Good news: I will be the MC for a guitar performance next Saturday, 28th March – the Earth day 😀
Bad news: I don’t have a so-good voice, such that I become the MC. And that’s the legend of GUitar club: there is a girl joining in the club for 2 years and after such a time, she can’s play guitar and can’t sing as well … the only thing she can do is TALK and TALK and TALK … and she is the MC for 2 years T__T.
Yesterday when I met my friends, in the Guitar Club also, and asked them what they wanted me to bake for the next rehearsal (which meant today :D). They said almost at the same time “American Cheese Brownie”. at that moment I was quite confident that I could find the recipe from some websites as I always did. However, life is weird and unpredictable, I couldn’t find it, maybe it’s just the name the baker gaves to his cake T_T. But why not a recipe of my own? just do it :D. So I try to remember what have I done with cheese and chocolate and luckily I saw some cake in BreadTalk shop yesterday when I was going for work.
I made the cake twice, yesterday and today, with a little bit change in my recipe. What i alternated for the 2nd attemp is to replace 1/3 cup of flour by the same amount of almond ground as i wanted smt softer and damper like cheesecake. Here is my recipe 😀
For the brownie:
1 cup flour or 2/3 cup of flour and 1/3 cup of almond ground
1 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of butter, melted
1/4 cup cocoa powder or you can use melted chocolate, as much as you want 😀
1/2 cup and a bit more (1tbsp) of butter milk or you can use 1/4 cup of water and 1/4 cup of plain youghurt or sour cream
baking soda, salt , vanilla
Mix all the ingredient together, set aside.
For the cheese topping”
4 oz Cream cheese (1/2 pack -125g but you can use more if you want , I love cream cheese btw :D), soften
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg (don’t use all the egg white, half is just nice :D)
Beat creamcheese, egg and sugar together untill smooth and creamy.
Prepare a 8-inch square pan greased and lined with baking paper or better you can use a springform pan. As I said it’s quite soft and damp so don’t try to pull the cake out of the pan after you bake it if u use normal pans unless you are so skillful. With my stupid attemp to pull it out, I ruined its appearance T__T. Luckly I had taken some photos before so I still can share with you some nice photos of the brownie lol.
Pour the brownie mixture into the pan and use a spatula to level it. Then scoop the cheese topping randomly on the brownie batter. Next, use a knife to swirl the two mixture without mixing them to make the marble effect. It will be like this
Bake at 350F/190C in 25 minutes. And then you got a cake like this 😀
I just get some a photo from joyofbaking.com for you to compare 😀
